Tips and advice for pre-oiled floors

Vacuum regularly to prevent dust, sand and small pebbles from scratching your floor.

Never use cleaning products other than those designated for pre-oiled floors. When you’re out of soap, we can send more by express delivery.

Wait 21 days after the oil application before washing your floors. Do not create dust or move furniture on the floor during those 21 days.

Place the packages of flooring in the room about 24 hours before installation, stacked at a maximum of three packages high. (The wood must adapt to the humidity level in your home.)

Use a dehumidifier or humidifier to achieve an air moisture level of between 40% and 50% to ensure the wood changes as little as possible. (Avoid a variation of 15% or more.)

Attach felts to the bottom of chairs, and ensure the felts remain clean.

Never leave a liquid on the floor.

Never wash with a large amount of water.

Wring out your mop well before using it on the floor.

Wood reacts to light over the years; the colour may vary slightly according to the type of wood. Reposition furniture and carpets occasionally.
